Description
A custom designed, decently sized, lampshade, designed to suit common fittings via its 28.5mm fixture hole at the top. The overall height is 168mm, with a rough out diameter of around 147mm at the widest point.
I designed this to suit a fairly long Phillips hue bulb, with a lower opaque wall to prevent direct light blaring out at common sitting positions, while still allowing a lot of light to shine from the bottom and gaps in the design.
This has gone through a few revisions to achieve a good balance of fitment, strength and printability.
Should only need supports for the inner ring at the top. Tree supports worked well for this in my case. Can end up with a stringy result as the design requires many hops. Got rid of most of mine with quick run over with a heat-gun & brush, although when fitted the light shows up any left over bits quite brightly!
The print shown in my photos was made using Jayo Silk red copper PLA. I've found the color can look quite different when lit up, with the copper color becoming a more orangey pink when the light is on.
