Description
This is a zero clearance insert for Dewalt miter saws.
I modeled it from the insert on my own saw wich is a DW716 (12inch, dual bevel, NON sliding)
from what I can tell from the replacement inserts on amazon, this will fit models:
DW703,DW704,DW705,DW715,DW716, 3660 Type 1, 3660 Type 2, 3660 Type 3, 3680 Type 1, 3680 Type 2, 3680 Type 3, DW703 Type 1, DW703 Type 3, DW703-B2 Type 1, DW703-B2 Type 2, DW703-B2 Type 3, DW703-B3 Type 1, DW703-B3 Type 2, DW703-B3 Type 3, DW703-BR Type 3, DW704 Type 1, DW704 Type 2, DW704 Type 3, DW704 Type 4, DW704 Type 4A, DW704 Type 5, DW705 Type 1, DW705 Type 2, DW705 Type 3, DW705 Type 4, DW705 Type 4A, DW705 Type 5, DW705 Type 6, DW705 Type 7, DW705 Type 8, DW705-220 Type 1, DW705-220 Type 2, DW705-35 T
This does NOT fit DeWalt Sliding miter saws.
The insert is very strong and is stiffer than the original.
I have atttached 2 gcodes.
the only difference between the 2 is that one is a single color, and the other has a color change (no MMU) and the Dewalt logo.
STLs also included.
Mine are printed in PLA.
I use supports around the holes. they are super small and very easy to remove.
Also, I use 100% infill ONLY in the center area where the cut takes place ( about ½ inch wide along the length).
The rest is done with 20 infill.
Thats it.
This just screws in like the original, nothing special
Being a zero clearance insert you will have to perform the cut yourself.
just go slow and remove any plastic burrs/residue along the cut line with a sharp blade and a quick pass of sand paper and you are good to go.
Enjoy!
And If you have a minute, check out my other models!
