EDIT 1/24/2026
I added an additional model component, "stakehead". It is a screw-on extension to the "screwpeg" component. Stakehead is intended for ground penetration on soft ground, adding additional stability without the potential for damaging screwpeg threads. Fusion 360 source & .STEP files have been updated with this addition
This model was constructed to work with my Starlink Mini Mount Insert ( https://www.printables.com/model/1564681-starlink-mini-mount-insert )
It provides for a bit of elevation to get the Starlink Mini off the ground or other mounting surface. It offers use of either flat bottomed feet or peg points
The ball clamp attaches to the Mount Insert using 4 M4 cap head screws. This is the only hardware needed for implementation other than a 40mm M5 screw used to attach the ball to the tripod center. The tripod center prints with M5 threads in place.
The M5 used in the ball attachment adds strength to the ball neck that would not exist if it was part of a larger print.
The thumbscrew for the ball clamp uses nominal M18x2.5 threads. The female component threads were relieved by 0.2mm for ease of engagement. The "screwpeg" uses nominal M15x1.5 threads. The corresponding threads in the leg are also relieved by 0.2mm. Screwpegs can be oriented to present either a flat "foot" or a pointed end to accomodate different surfaces.
For best thread production, please use a 0.2mm (or less) layer height.
Parts should print in their native orientation, with no supports needed.
See pictures for assembly and application.
Fusion 360 source and .STEP files are included.
EDIT 01/30/2026:
If you need a sturdier tripod with more height, I added a model that uses pieces of 1/2" EMT (thin wall conduit tubing) for the legs. It can be used with the same ballmount. You can find it here:
