Hogwarts Crest

This is a layered Hogwarts sigil relief, designed specifically for clean FDM printing and post-processing finishes like Rub ’n Buff, paint, or wood mounting.

The model was printed at 0.2 mm layer height using a 0.6 mm nozzle, which intentionally leaves subtle layer lines to enhance the brushed-metal look when finishing the raised crest. The base print shown was produced in Elegoo PLA Matte, chosen for its low sheen and excellent contrast under metallic rubs.

The sigil is optimized for:

• Strong edge definition

• Clean text readability

• Minimal stringing in recessed details

Recommended print settings:

• Layer height: 0.2 mm

• Nozzle: 0.6 mm

• Material: PLA / PLA Matte

• Walls: 3+

• Infill: 10–15% (gyroid or cubic)

• No supports required

This model works especially well when mounted on a wood or wood-PLA backing, with the crest finished separately for a metal-inlay effect. Ideal for wall art, decorative shields, or display pieces.
