Description
All the other print sheet holders out there are difficult to use. I wanted something better. So, I created the pivoting print sheet holder!
Holds 4 print sheets. The parts are meant to be held down by magnets. Magnets to hold the base in place, and a magnet in each pivoting piece to hold it down (and the sheets up).
DISCLAIMER: I used uniquely shaped magnets out of an old hard drive for the parts in the photos. The models I posted do not have any magnet pockets. Instead of posting my personal design, I opted to post STEP files without pockets to let you customize it for yourself.
I used eight, 9x13x3mm magnets in the base and one of the same type in each of the pivots. I recommend a similar "mass" of magnets in your assembly. If there is enough demand for a particular magnet type, I'll modify the design to accommodate them.
Recommended printing conditions:
Base:
0.2mm layers, 2 perimeters, 15% infill
It just barely fits on a core one print sheet on the bottom face
This part needs a brim, however, it can't accommodate one because it already maxes out the build plate. Instead, add 0.2 mm thick cylinders at the front ends to help with bed adhesion. See last photo for more details.
Pivots:
0.2mm layers, 3 perimeters, 15% infill
Print on the inward facing side so that the pegs are facing up
Untested v2 Jan-27, 2026:
-added 15-deg hard stops so the print sheets are prevented from falling forward
-added features in the base to eliminate the need for supports or variable layer height
