Hello
I realised that it is not going to be easy to put the bulb in so....
this upgrade should allow you to put a 60mm diameter light bulb through the bottom with an easier bayonet fitting for the shade.....
BEWARE... Now that a big bulb will fit.Do not use a high temp bulb in the lamp. It could melt or far worse catch fire...
SERIOUSLY, PLEASE USE AN LED,LOW WATTAGE BULB!
I made this model from luminous filament...
I only used 4 wall loops because I thought it would come out too dark. Turns out one would do much better with at least 10 wall loops as it is far too bright (It also makes the shade far less fragile). Of course you must have zero infill, the interior of the shade must be hollow.
First try, I made a hole in the top to let the heat out but these led lamps everyone uses nowadays generate negligible heat. I also found that if you use the big hot light bulbs that you need a huge hole in the top to insert the lamp.
finally, I decided on , no hole in the top and a slim led bulb that will fit through the bottom....
as you can see in the pix, it is really bright when it is switched on and the darker pix, it is in the dark after it has been turned off!
The trouble is, with luminous filament, the lamp looks far nicer when it is turned off... Bother!
(as I am really impatient, I tried just printing half the eye, this way you have more bed adhesion and it takes less time... change filament a few layers before the finish)
