Description
A lampshade full of love with its 128 hearts! A cute option to warm up a room for valentines day.
By default, this design has a 30mm hole, with 62mm flat faces around the hole for use with common lamp mounts and stands. You may be able to scale it up/down as needed, otherwise I've also included a step file here for easier modification where desired.
It's designed to be printed upside-down, since that prevents hard overhangs around the hearts. You will need supports just for the area around the central hole. Tree supports worked well for me there (see pictures). The design does mean many hops for the printer, which can result in a fair bit of stringing, so you may want to carefully use heat to remove strings after print.
The result in the photos was printed using a 0.6mm nozzle, at 0.28mm layer height, so a standard 0.4mm nozzle at 0.2mm layers should have better detail. I printed with Deeplee matte PLA red. A nice warm-color silk PLA would probably look better. I found that red/copper colors become more orangey when lit as a lamp-shade, so maybe a deeper darker red may have a better balance of colors when lit and non-lit.
