Description
On Sundays I always make something in the shop. This simple belt and tie rack kind of got out of control and took a few days to get it together. It has a modified MG995 servo that drives the holders left and right. I just used 2 AA cells to rotate it each direction with a simple piece of brass as a switch on the from to select the direction.
It holds 25 ties so you need to make 25 holders to make the chain which goes around the gears. The drive gear is pressed on the end of the servo drive gear to make the splines.
It's held on with a 15 mm long 3mm shaft with a jam nut at the gear to hold it in place. A lock nut is put on below the bottom plate and tightened up on the servo allowing it to move freely. The gear on the opposite end spins on a 12mm long 5mm shaft that is tapped for 3mm. 10mm screws on top and bottom hold it in place.
You need to clean up the tie holders so that the chain moves freely. One of my dumber projects since you can buy this for $40 dollars on Amazon, but it was fun to do. I hope you
