Description
This is a robust dovetail mounting system designed specifically for SBR20 linear rail sliding blocks (SBR20UU). I created this mechanism to allow for modular, quick-change attachments on linear motion projects without unscrewing the base block every time.
Key Features:
Quick-Swap Design: Easily slide different tools or mechanisms onto your linear rails.
Locking Mechanism: Includes a dedicated hole for an M3 screw. This acts as a set screw to firmly lock the dovetail plate in position, preventing sliding during operation.
Heavy Duty: Designed with thick walls and high infill to withstand mechanical stress.
Hardware Required
4x Machine Screws: (Typically M5 or M6) to secure the base to the SBR20 block.
1x M3 Screw: Used as the locking set screw (length depends on your preference, 10mm-15mm recommended).
If you prefer using a nut rather than threading into the plastic.
These parts are designed for mechanical stress, so strength is a priority over speed.
Layer Height: 0.20 mm
Infill: 50%
Infill Pattern: Gyroid (Essential for isotropic strength in mechanical parts)
Wall/Perimeter Count: 4 walls (Reinforces the dovetail geometry and the M3 screw hole against shear forces)
Material: PLA+ / PETG / ABS
Supports: No supports required if printed flat.
