Hovalin violin chin rest (no support needed)

This is a remix of the original design of the chin rest, and doesn't require any support material to print. I recommend printing this in flexible material such as TPU because 1. the flat bottom will fit better against the violin, 2. the TPU will cushion against the chin better than hard plastic, and 3. the soft TPU will preserve the sound and vibration of the violin better. I used 5% infill for the TPU material so that it feels somewhat soft.

TPU stringing can be an issue. You will need to tweak the retraction, z-lift, and print temperature to get the best print. Sometimes a higher print temperature for TPU would actually reduce stringing as the material becomes more like fluid rather than stretchy solid.
