Description
EDIT 05/09/2026: I added a new component to take the place of the leg mount. "Leg-mount-w-screw" and "Leg-mount-screw" were created to have a way to secure the EMT within the mount without being dependant on purely friction based retention. Source files have been updated to reflect the addition.
This is a more compact version of the EMT leg tripod made for use with a ballmount and Starlink Mini Mount Insert.
This is the original version:
The compact model uses all the same components, with the change being a compact center base. As with the prior version, no tools or hardware is needed for assembly or adjustment, with the exception of one M5 40mm screw used to attach the ball to the tripod base. Also like the prior version, this model uses lengths of 1/2" EMT (thin wall conduit tubing) for the tripod legs. The user can use whatever length they prefer. My local building supply sells 10' lengths for less than $7. In one of the pics, you can see the model with 40" EMT legs. There are also swivel feet on the EMT. 40" may not be very portable, but does work.
Please print with 0.2 mm layers (or finer) for best thread production. Components should print in their native orientation and not require supports for an acceptable product. If supports are used, I would suggest auto tree supports from build plate only.
This model also includes files for the ballmount components. The ball is attached to the tripod with an M5 40mm screw. The ballclamp attaches to the Starlink Mini Mount Insert using four M4 screws.
Fusion 360 source and .STEP files are provided in addition to the .STL files.
EDIT 02/02/2026
I added a model that allows you to add a swivel foot to the EMT
