Description
Function If you are building a CNC, camera slider, or robot using SBR20 rails, you need a way to keep the carriage on the track. This printed part acts as a hard stop at the end of the rail.
Design
Clamp Fit: The C-shape is designed to slip over the 20mm rail.
Safety Buffer: It provides a physical barrier so that if your motor over-travels or you slide the carriage too far by hand, the ball bearings won't pop out of the block.
Hardware Required
1x M3 or M4 Screw & Nut: (Depending on the hole size in your print). You will need a screw to pass through the flanges to tighten the clamp securely onto the rail.
Note: If the fit is tight enough from the printer, it may work as a friction fit, but using a screw is recommended for safety.
I printed this with normal settings, which are sufficient for a static stop.
Material: PLA, PETG, or ABS. (PETG is recommended if you expect the block to hit it frequently, as it is less brittle).
Layer Height: 0.20 mm or 0.28 mm
Infill: 20% (Grid or Gyroid)
Walls: 3 walls (To prevent it from cracking when you tighten the screw).
Supports: No supports required if printed on its flat face.
