Description
If you know what this part's actually called please tell me, also tell me if this fits any other headphones than the DT 990 PRO, a lot of their parts are compatible with multiple headphones. Beyerdynamic doesn't sell it so I couldn't figure either question.
Anyway, this is a fairly accurate recreation of the original geometry, if it needs tweaking I'll upload that but there's only one feature I think might be slightly off.
This prints like absolute garbage, this kind of model wasn't really designed for 3D printing since I'm cloning a part obviously designed for injection molding. Without redesigning the grilles and what have you I doubt it's reasonable to really change that though. It does print it just needs a lot of support material and ideally a brim. This should be printed solid (which is likely going to be the case no matter what print settings you use)
I printed this with 0.2mm layer height and it turned out fine, 5mm brim on both inside and outside since the 1.5mm rim would be the only contact area otherwise, add in a metric buttload of supports and it sorta printed okay. Definitely ugly as sin on the inside (support interface, I haven't tuned supports at all on the Q1 Pro). The supports probably won't cooperate either, the entire model is practically a giant overhang so the supports will probably adhere like an absolute m-f. Honestly surprised it printed as relatively cleanly as it did.
If you're the unlucky sod who needs this, godspeed. I hope your printer is reasonably well tuned or this might be a nightmare.
