Description
Inspired by the butifull work of d4Rk I made a remix of his Nixie Clock:
You can find the Digital Nixie Clock at:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008155604965.html
You will need: Copper paint, Rustoleum Soft Iron spray paint, Scotch tape, (6) M3-12mm and (6) M3-4mm tapered screws
I used Bambu Titan Gray Silk PLA (with a mist of Rustoleum Soft Iron spray paint, Bambu basic black PLA and Polymaker Copper Silk PLA and Bambu brown tranparent PETG.
1- Assemble the 4 top digit cover. Alternate small and large cylinder plate (total of 5) begining with the small one.
2- Disassemble the 16 black rod (holding the 4 top wood cover-don’t need anymore). Paint them with copper spray paint. (It’s a delicate task. Put tape on the top of the thin plastic plate to keep them together). Keep all the srews. Reassamble the painted rod. Sand the tips of the 4 mode black button (flat top). The most difficult part is done.
3- Assemble the case. Pipe ring goes at each end of them (total of 24). the 4 center pipes are a bit difficult to insert, take your time and a tweezer. Glue the 4 black round grid inside the case and glue fan over it.
4- Put the Nixie Clock on his base and insert carefully the case over it. Use 6 tapered M3-12mm srews to fix it. Use the 6 old clock base screws to fix the bottom base.
5- Insert and fix in place the 2 digit base with tapered M3-4mm screws (total of 6)
6- Reassemble the new digit top unit using the same 16 screws.
7- Glue the PETG transparent cylinder over the center led and glue the cap on top.
8- Finally, carefully insert and glue the 4 mode button extension at the back.
