Description
Solving a bit of a problem with the Sony FX-30 / FX-3 audio handle microphone mount. This mount has two primary issues:
1) It is sized for a very specific 27mm diameter microphone that almost no one uses
2) It is really loud and makes clicking noises and doesn't dampen vibration to the microphone much
This solution uses a standard Rode SM4-R Rycote Lyre Shockmount microphone holder and adapts away it's bottom plate (designed to mount to a stand or boom arm) and replaces it with a mount adapter that fits into the Sony FX-3 / FX-30 audio handle mount to provide effective microphone shock mounting and isolation.
It's a simple design and is designed to be printed in the vertical orientation. Through holes are tear dropped on top so it doesn't require any supports.
I am later going to finish solving the last portion of the problem for the Sony audio handle microphone mount which is the clicking as it moves. I've already solved this on mine with a piece of specfically cut medium density foam but I want to provide an SVG file so that anyone can print it and cut the exact shape required or use a laser cutter to cut it.
