Description
This is a tool tray designed for the Qidi X-Max 3. Of note is that this one screws in using M5 machine screws so it is highly secure.
There are three print models included currently (I also included an STL of the tool tray as it's likely people will want to customize it for their specific tools).
The three models are:
1) Insert fitment gauge and drill guide - This is the block with the small handle on the front and the two chamfered holes. This is meant to be used to ensure your dimensions are correct (xy body and xy hole compensation). This should fit snuggly into the handle inset and a 5mm drill bit should just fit into the holes. If it fits snuggly and well, this is then used as a drill guide to drill the two holes through the handle inset on the X-Max 3 side panel so that the Tray Mounting Insert can be securely attached.
2) Tray Mounting Insert - This model is flat on one side and just a bit chamfered on the other. It has two holes that you will need to add M5 threaded heat inserts to. You will need 4 M5 threaded inserts as you will put in two in each hole from each side (one set takes the screws from the inside of the machine securing this block into the handle inset and the other set takes the screws that attach the tool tray). DO NOT INSERT THIS BLOCK INTO THE HANDLE INSET WITHOUT THE THREADED INSERTS ALREADY INSTALLED!! (It will be extremely difficult to remove and likely you will need to CA glue something to its outside face to then pull it out. If there are already heat inserts in it, you can just thread some screws in to pull it out.)
3) Tool Tray - This should be pretty self explanatory. Review the images. If you decide to use the .STL file and design just tray variants please to post them in the makes and if you want, you can send me the model files to add here.
NOTE: The mounting system and gauge/drill guide block are my proprietary design and are not allowed to be distributed as anyone elses original work even if modifed or included just as a mount then used for other accessories. They and any variants of them must provide attribution to me.
