Description
I was looking for a STL model for a Hinge Pin for Weber Wheelie Bin MGB 360 Litre, but it was not to be found. So I made one. From what I can tell this is the same pin used in the Weber 60, 80, 120, 140, 180, 240 litre bins BUT you'd have to cut the length to suit in your slicer software.
Unlike other models out there, this version is a direct replacement in terms of the length, it goes right into the centre hinge for the top lid of the bin.
I'd suggest PETG, infill 100% as it will need to take some abuse, organic/tree supports with 5mm spacing, no top interface layers on the supports, and print it diagonal on the print sheet as it's a long (or tall model). There is a latch-snap on this (works out really well) so keep that in mind when orientating the model.
I used a 0.6mm HF nozzle with 0.32mm layer height to maximise the strength and also by orientating it flat the layer runs horizontal across the full length of the model, the best possible strength. I might print them in ASA someday if they ever need to be replaced again.
Install Note: Make sure the Grogg-3D logo is orientated horizontal to the ground, readable, maybe a slight 2 to 5 degree anti-clockwise rotation to make sure the latch-snap gets it's mark, a small hole under the handle where it drops and gets secured into the hinge. You'll feel it.
