Description

High-resolution STLs for a variation of Chicago Stenographer low-pro keycaps (Choc stems). Perfect for compact keyboards like Ferris, Corne, Kyria, Lily58, etc.

Generated using modified code from https://github.com/pseudoku/PseudoMakeMeKeyCapProfiles

Recommended R2-R3-R2 for each column. For inner index column (the one that index finger has to move to the side for) Convex + Convex Tall can be a good option. For thumbs, either the Thumb or Convex keys work well.

For FDM, best printed at a shallow angle (30-45deg) to preserve z-axis resolution along the the top surface. Stems stacked vertically (so that layer lines follow the finger direction of travel for a smooth top surface feel).

  • .07-.15 layer height
  • 0 infill
  • 0 top/bottom layers
  • 2-3 perimeters/walls
  • Slow down outer perimeters (10-20mm/s). Make sure the entire perimeter is printed at the same speed (Slicers will often slow down a layer if total layer time is below a threshold. Look at the layer speed visualization to confirm everything is uniform.)
  • Seam on the back/bottom
  • Supports for stems and the edges (but not the middle to make supports easier to remove)
  • No raft/brim
  • Avoid crossing perimeters
  • Disable Z-hop
  • (For PLA) Reduce temp -5-10deg from normal. Rotate your model so that the top surface faces the print fan for better cooling.
  • (For Cura) Enable coasting + wall flow compensation + tree supports
