Description
Hello again,
Alright... what a saga this project has been. It probably should have been the V-22 given how many revisions needed to be made and how much of a headache it became. If you have already downloaded it, I apologize - the original files did work but things were very complicated when it came to putting it all together. This version will snap together and you only need a little glue to connect the engines to the wings. Otherwise, it fits together well enough.
Finally, I designed the rotors to spin using a 693 bearing (8mm OD x 3mm ID x 4mm depth) as these are relatively inexpensive and easy - it's insane to see the rotors spinning as the blades do get so close to the fuselage and they are comically massive - nevertheless, this is the future of troop transport.
If you would rather not have the rotors spin, I did include a printed axle option for you to use (but the blades still need to be printed and placed.
Legacy model pics (maybe I will come back to this beast and try to make the hollow version work, but for now, the solid model reigns)-
(The above image is of the hollow version with a simple cockpit - ultimately, I found that there was no benefit to this as the windows, despite being thin, turned out to be opaque. There are some sanding marks as this is pre-paint. Currently, I am printing the solid version and will update when I can)
(you can see some of the window inserts here)
(and the solid option prior to any sanding or the installation of the engines)
