Parametric calibration cube

August 30, 2022
Description
A fully customizable cube to calibrate the extruder multiplier. You can select the thickness of the walls, floor and dimensions of the cube, so you can make your own “nested”, space-saving cube sets at different layer heights, and check against a single wall (for instance, in vase-mode) or two or more walls.
A lot of pregenerated STL files for 0.4 and 0.6 nozzles, and 1 or 2 walls, are also included.
The OpenSCAD customizer file uses the Recymbol library. It's not mandatory to have it installed to run the customizer (the program will just throw some errors), but Recymbol is a breeze to install, and it's not only useful for recycling purposes but also is a great way to identify a material.
The customizer will also output (in the OpenSCAD console panel) a suggested filename that includes all the parameters used. This will help you to recognize which cube is which, if you tend to do a lot of them. Because some people do, you know, like hundreds of them.
You might want to check also my other calibration utilities, all parametric and customizable:
- The simple temperature tower, with G-Code generator
- The advanced temperature tower, with G-Code generator and tests for bridges and overhangs
- The parametric overhang test, with support enforcer generator.
- The E-Cor tower (waveform for the TMC stepper drivers), with G-Code generator.
- The ironing calibration matrix, with modifier generator.
And, also, the non-parametric-but-modifiable precise Live-Z calibration test.
Once you're done testing and calibrating, sample your filaments with the parametric swatches!
Happy printing!
