Description
This is SAM 220 from the Kunsthistorisches Museum. Some cornetto musicians have noted this is incredibly difficult to play.
The image provided is a fair use snapshot from the Die Zinken Und Der Serpent. The measurements are from a historical instrument well out of copyright.
I did do some slight modifications and creative interpretations where the measurements were not provided (ct scan of the embedded mouthpiece, and measurements between every 10mm sections)
I have provided the full model, AND a 3-part segmented model for easy 3d printing. The printing I have done here is with resin.
Ive included a .1mm tolerance between segments to apply a thin amount of binary clear epoxy on both sides of the barrel joint. Using a 20 minute epoxy allows proper orientation and fit. After that, allow cure for 1 hour, then do the next joint.
After both joints done, let sit for 24 hours to fully cure.
To clean up the seams, you can take of the 3d printer resin and carefully paint in the cracks. Use a small UV led source to spot harden. Then once the crack is not visible, take from 600 to 1000 grit sandpaper and sand until smooth.
