Description
This is a remix of the Rugged Parametric Box by Whity, adapted for 9mm ammunition storage. This version integrates a removable ammo tray and includes all source files for further customization.
This model supports tray capacities from 50 up to 396 rounds.
Requires 6 [M3x30mm] Screws. Screw length and thickness is adjustable in the Fusion3D files.
If you are looking for smaller capacity versions, see Defense Round Mini Sizes (20x and 25x).
In Progress: [Multi-color Lids]
9mm ammunition overall length varies by projectile profile and load. Flat-nose FMJ and round-nose FMJ will differ in OAL, and defensive hollow point loads often vary further due to differing bullet geometry and designs. There is no single case dimension that will perfectly accommodate every 9mm variant. Please measure your specific ammunition and adjust the model using the provided source files as needed.
The case is dimensioned with a 2 mm clearance between the maximum intended 9mm overall length and the underside of the lid. If a tighter fit is desired, reduce the lid height accordingly in the source file. For additional cushioning, 1/8 in or 1/16 in foam can be added to the standard lid. If using 1/4 in foam, larger bottom variants are available to maintain proper internal clearance.
While the box remains fully parametric, the ammo tray, however, cannot be completely parametric due to geometry operations that must be done manually after changing grid size.
If creating a custom tray size in Fusion, complete the following steps:
Set desired column and row quantity (Core 1 max: 18 deep x 22 wide)
Apply fillets to the inside and outside outer corners of the tray
• Outer corner: 5 mm
• Inner corner: 4 mm
Apply a chamfer to the bottom edge of the tray
• 1.5 mm to 1.7 mm recommended
Measure the distance between the outer walls
Update the box file using those measured dimensions
Because these features reference changing interior geometry, they will not regenerate automatically through parameters alone.
All Fusion 3D files are included so you can modify and rebuild as needed.
• Fusion 3D source files
• 3mf files
• CoreOne GCode
Tested in PLA and PETG
Layer height: 0.2 mm
Supports: Not required
Walls: 2-3 perimeters recommended
Infill: 15 to 25 percent
Print tray and lids flat on the build plate. If modifying dimensions, verify fit before printing the full box assembly.
Long Term Storage Note
This model includes a gasket seal to improve air resistance. For long term storage, consider adding a desiccant pack or using a dedicated ammo can. The designer assumes no liability for ammunition condition during storage.
