Description
This project provides a complete solution for building a compact, vertical Meshtastic or Meshcore Desk Node. It is specifically designed to house a combination of an nRF52840 Promicro and the DX-LR30 LoRa module.
The design includes two main components:
Conical Desk Case: A minimalist, space-saving enclosure that holds the electronics vertically. It features a precise cutout for the USB-C charging/data port at the base and a top opening for an SMA antenna connector. The vertical orientation helps optimize the footprint on your desk while maintaining stability.
Soldering Base: To simplify the assembly of these small components, I have included a dedicated 3D-printable soldering jig. This base holds the nRF52840 and the LoRa module at the correct distance and alignment, allowing you to bridge the pins and solder the connections securely without the parts moving.
Wiring Diagram: I have attached a clear connection diagram specifically for use with Faketec firmware for Meshtastic (or Meshcore). This ensures the pinout is correctly mapped between the nRF52840 and the DX LR30 module for optimal performance.
Technical Specifications:
Supported Modules: nRF52840 + DX LR30 (868/915 MHz).
Port Access: Full access to USB-C for flashing and power.
Antenna: Designed for standard SMA panel mount connectors.
