I created this rigid heddle loom because the one that I had previously updated actually somehow hit 1000 views- a kind thank you goes out to everyone supporting my work! My previous weaving loom included 2 heddles with mechanically defined positions, meaning you can only weave repeatably with 2 strands, making the patterning less easy to change. So, this fully 3D Printed loom was created for weavers who might value creative freedom and simplicity more over repeatability- no more heddles!
You will most likely need a 3D Printer with a bed size of atleast 220mm x 220mm to be able to comfortably print this weaving loom, with the effective weaving width being 196mm. The included heddle is about ~7epi.
I use 6-32"x1/2" machine nuts and bolts to bolt the 2 top connectors to the two frame pieces; the dimensional call out for the insert on the nuts is 8mm from side to side. You should be able to use different nuts and bolts as long as the heads and nuts are not smaller than 4mm across. 6-32" hardware is also used to mount the Ratchet Stoppers onto the frame pieces.
Edit 9/4/23
It has came to my attention that when being printed with PLA the bottom half of the frame tends to bend outward under pressure from the warp strands. To reduce this issue, I have included an extra assembly piece called the Lower Frame Tensioner, which pulls the bottom half of the frame inward on itself after the rest of the assembly is put together.
Printed parts list:
1x Left-sided Frame
1x Right-sided Frame
1x Heddle
2x Top Frame Connector
2x Warp Load Bar

4x Roller Bearing Ratchet Stopper
1x Lower Frame Tensioner (added 9/4/23)
Included printed tools:
6-32" Wrench
Shuttle Tool
Warp Load Tool
Warp Board Mk. I
