Description
While working on a personal project, I used the original model to cast soft tissue components in silicone. However, I found the original mold design quite uncomfortable and impractical to use, especially during assembly and compression.
For that reason, I decided to redesign and optimize the model. It was a challenging process, but the result is a more refined and user-friendly mold with several improvements:
Optimized for easier 3D printing
Designed to accommodate larger screws, allowing better pressure distribution and tighter sealing
Two top openings:
One for air release, reducing trapped bubbles
One for silicone injection using a syringe
I cannot claim this is the perfect mold, as it was my first mold design. However, the results have been quite satisfactory. If I revisit this project in the future, I may refine it further — but in its current state, it performs very well and produces reliable results.
