Description
For those who are not yet familiar with the moving bus system, here is a good article:
http://www.sumidacrossing.org/OtherElements/TomytecBusSystem/
The DIY-street plates print without supports and 0.4mm nozzle, but with very fine layer height of 0.08mm to achieve needed quality. Good bed adhesion is need, so please clean your building plate before printing. The end clips are printed separately and must be glued in at last step.
You need a steel wire to clue into the prepared channel on back side. I made best experience with Faller’s wire for its car system (Faller is also a distributor of the Tomytec bus system in Europe):
https://www.faller.de/en/model-layout-construction/streets-traffic/873/special-contact-wire
but probably any other steel wire of 0.5mm diameter should work as well (must be magnetic, so stainless steel wire may not work well).
In extension to the original street plates, I made also 15°-curves, what gives more freedom to create your road. For smaller radii there are also 60°-curves and a double length of the straight plate. Some more special parts are under development and will published, if ready. Hope you enjoy these extended possibilities to create streets for Tomtec’s great bus/street system.
Happy printing and a lot of fun with your layout!
Update 2026-04-09: Improved version uploaded with strengthened sides and end plugs. Have fun!
