GM MAF Intake Tube

Description

This is a custom‑designed MAF intake tube engineered for builders who want smoother airflow, better MAF signal stability, and a modular setup that works with common GM platforms. The tube stands 200 mm tall with an 87 mm internal diameter and 92 mm outer diameter, sized specifically to accept the AC Delco 10393948 Mass Air Flow sensor (one of GM’s most widely used MAF units).

The MAF mounting boss is set back further inside the tube than OEM placement to reduce turbulence from influent air and provide a more stable, repeatable airflow profile across the sensor element. This helps reduce trim oscillation and improves consistency when tuning.

A matching bellmouth attachment is included for users who want improved inlet flow. The bellmouth is designed as a tight friction fit; depending on your printer tolerances, you may want to scale the bellmouth down 1–2% for an easier slip‑fit.

This model is ideal for custom intakes, dyno testing, tuning setups, or anyone building a clean, functional intake system with a proven GM MAF.

Printing Recommendations

• Material: PETG or ABS recommended for under‑hood heat; PLA only for mock‑ups

• Wall count: 4–6 walls for strength

• Infill: 20–40% (Gyroid or Cubic)

• Supports: Only needed for the MAF boss overhang

• Layer height: 0.2 mm for best balance of detail and strength

• Orientation: Print vertically for roundness, or horizontally for maximum strength at the MAF flange

Fitment Notes

• Bellmouth is intentionally modeled as a snug friction fit.

• If your printer runs slightly oversized, scale the bellmouth to 98–99% for a perfect slip‑fit.

• MAF boss is dimensioned for the AC Delco 10393948 sensor body; verify your sensor matches this part number.

• Tube wall thickness supports clamps without deformation.

• Always test‑fit before installing in a running engine.
