Havis console mounting Motorola APX-8500 Mobile Remote Head Mount
This is to help make the radio display more visible. It was originally mounted flat and was hard to view the display, and was unsafe for the operator.
I drove this car the other day to take it in for service and was unable to view the radio display from the drivers seat . Having the radio display viewing straight up is horrible. Glare is bad and almost impossible viewing angle. I decided to fix this with my engineering skills and 3D printer. Final angle is 22 degrees up from the original flat position.
I measured the geometry the best I could. I test printed the white ears (picture) in PLA to view the geometry, including the 3 degree draft angle. It came out good.
I then printed the main mount, superglued in the ears to the main mount. Then mounted the Motorola APX-8500 Radio Head in the Blue PLA plastic prototype. I mounted it in the Dodge Durango center console. The right side came out 0.08” of an inch short (version-12) pictured with red box around the gap. Don’t know how that happened.
I fixed the geometry gap and pushed the holes over too (version-13).
Version-13 is the good model published below.

This model is free to use for any public agency, business, or private individual. At the end of the day, if it makes your job safer, that is a good thing. Running Code-3 is dangerous enough.
I will include the 3D STEP geometry files for download so you can edit to fit your use. Remote Radio head goes from being flat to 22 degs tilted up.
I could have printed this as one piece, but for optimal strength in parts and ease of printing, 3 pieces are used. Ears are printed in a flat orientation for strength. If this was printed in Resin, then one piece would easily be possible.
