Description

Simple safety end cover for R1-sized (flamco) mounting rails. There rails are very common in buildings to mount various pipelines etc. on.

In our company building we used some R1 rails as a shelf, but after recent changes to our storage space, these rails where slightly sticking out in the walkway.

We didn't have end covers on stock, so I designed my own.

In the v1 and v1.2, the part that sticks in the mounting rail is designed to be a bit flexible for a secure mount, but v1 (4 shell springs) turned out to be more like a solid and v1.2 (2 shell springs) seemed way to flexible.

V2 has no springs, but does have 2 contact points on each side, so it does not wobble when mounted on the rail (you can slightly move v1 and v1.2 when mounted because these have just one contact point on each side).

If you like the springs, I can make the springs somewhere in between.

All versions are intended to be a thight fit. Some force may be required when mounting.

I printed in orange PLA, but I can imagine that the springs work better when printed in PETG since it is slightly more flexible and stronger in general.
