Voronoi Vase with Cast Concrete Base (Silicone Mold Kit)

This vase combines an organic Voronoi pattern with a solid cast-concrete base. The vase body is designed for ASA printing and acetone vapor smoothing, giving it a clean, porcelain-like finish.

To make the concrete base repeatably, the model set also includes 3D-printed parts for creating a silicone mold (outer shell / mold jacket), so you can cast the base easily and consistently.

• 3× outer shell parts for making the silicone mold (they form the rigid outer jacket)

• Mold holder / support part to keep the silicone mold stable during concrete casting

Recommended 3D printing

• Material: ASA (with acetone vapor smoothing)

• Supports: required

  • Best results: Organic supports printed in PETG (great separation from ASA on multi-material printers)
    

• Printer setup: enclosure recommended (ASA likes stable, warm conditions)

Tips:

• Use a brim if you’re fighting corner lift/warping.

• Aim for clean outer walls before smoothing (it will make the final result much nicer).

Post-processing (porcelain-like finish)

• Acetone vapor smoothing is the recommended finish for the vase body and for the mold master parts (smoother master = better silicone mold surface).

• Work safely: ventilated area, no flames, and follow your local safety guidelines for acetone handling.

Silicone mold + concrete base workflow (high level)

1. Print the base master (ASA recommended) and smooth it if you want the cleanest cast surface.
   

2. Assemble the 3-part outer shell around the master to create the mold cavity.
   

3. Pour silicone to create the mold, then let it fully cure. Approximately 150 g of silicone.
   

4. For concrete casting, place the silicone mold into the holder part — it keeps the mold supported and properly aligned during the pour.
   

5. Cast the concrete, demold after curing, and finish as desired (light sanding, sealing, etc.).
   

6. Attach the base to the vase body with M4 screws (15mm).

Note: The Voronoi walls are decorative and typically best for dried flowers unless you add a watertight insert/liner.
