Description
Eyecup Spacer for Swarovski Habicht 8x30 W (Binoculars)
This spacer was specifically designed for the Swarovski Habicht 8x30 W binoculars. It is installed between the binocular body (eyepiece) and the rubber eyecup to noticeably increase the eye relief.
Why this spacer? Many users—especially those observing without glasses—find that the standard eye relief isn't always optimal. If the distance is too short, annoying shadows (blackouts) can quickly appear at the edges of the field of view. This spacer extends the eyecup by just the right amount to ensure a calm and perfect view.
🔍 Compatibility
The model is tailor-made for the Swarovski Habicht 8x30 W. Since many classic Porro prism binoculars use identical or very similar eyepieces, there is a good chance this spacer will fit other models as well.
Very likely to fit:
Swarovski Habicht 10x40 W (uses a similar wide-angle eyepiece)
Swarovski Habicht 7x42 (including the rubber-armored GA versions)
Potentially fits (may require slight scaling):
Classic Zeiss models (e.g., Carl Zeiss Jena Deltrintem 8x30)
Classic Nikon Porros (e.g., Nikon EII 8x30 or Action series)
Steiner or Optolyth (older Porro prism models with standard eyepieces)
Tip for other binoculars: Simply measure the outer diameter of your eyepiece with calipers. If it differs slightly, you can scale the model by a few percent (on the X and Y axes) in your slicer.
🔧 Print Settings
To ensure the spacer fits well and protects your equipment, I recommend the following parameters:
Material: I used extrudr TPU Semiflex for my print. It has a shore hardness of 85A. This is ideal because it has some give, provides a good seal, and is easy to install. Alternatively, PETG or PLA will also work, provided the spacer sits directly underneath the original soft eyecup and doesn't need to bend.
Layer Height: 0.15 mm to 0.20 mm
Infill: 100%
Top/Bottom fill pattern: concentric
Perimeters (Walls): 3 (for sufficient stability when mounting)
