Description
This is a case for the ThinkNode M2 Meshtastic board. I found a full STP file on Github. It appears to be the file for their injection molded case. I imported the file into Fusion 360. I then modified some of the parts to make them 3D printing friendly. I then exported the various subassemblies as separate STL files. For the front of the case, I oriented it face down with organic supports. For the antenna housing, I oriented it so the top was on the build plate and I used a 10mm brim. For the side button rocker, I oriented it with the face of the button on the build plate and used snug supports. The orange sample case pictured is PLA and the black is ABS.
Build Notes: I had to drill out the screw holes in the posts where the backplate connects to the front. This helps make sure the screws go straight into the front piece. I used M1.7x6 self tapping screws. I first installed the button rocker. It's a bit fiddly, so make sure you have the little arm seated properly. I slid the antenna into the housing and then installed that in front piece. Then I had to carefully bend and route the antenna lead so it didn't pinch in the case or interfere with the screw posts. Make sure the board is firmly flush on the inside. If the back doesn't close evenly, check the board is seated all the way on the posts.
