Description
If you wish to use TPU filament for your Creality K1 or K1C printer, you need to feed the filament directly into the printhead from above the printer.
This is an integrated on top spool holder and a printer lid, that will reduce the noice from printing as well as separate the temperature inside the printer from the outside.
The spool holder can be printed on the Creality 22x22 cm print plate in two parts. The corners need support but its easy to remove after printing. Make sure your print plate is clean with good adhesion. You may print the long cylinder part separately for higher precision and safer printing.
The total printing time on my K1C is about 24 hours!
The assembly video is made with a 50% scaled version, which printed in "only" 5 hours.
Would look better in black or dark grey.
When printing TPU, set low speed for the printing and in particular the travel speed of the printhead. This is important when printing large objects, so the printhead does not pull the filament too hard. The spool holder has support for adding a brake using a cord and a rubber band, to avoid the spool spinning out of control.
