Description
AstroFlex is a set of vibration damping feet designed specifically for reflector telescope tripods. The internal suspension lattice allows controlled elastic compression under load, reducing micro-vibrations caused by focusing adjustments, wind, or ground movement.
Unlike solid rubber pads, the internal geometry progressively flexes, distributing load and dissipating energy through TPU deformation. The design depends on flexible filament (recommended ~95A TPU) to function as intended.
⚠ Material Note:
The prototype shown in photos was printed in PLA due to material constraints and serves only as a geometry validation model. Functional vibration damping requires TPU.
This design demonstrates how internal flex structures can turn soft materials into engineered vibration isolators.
