Description
Starting point of the project was learning about past sanitary customs and finding shapes which had the potential to be repurposed into functional bathroom object. The main inspiration comes from medieval castle toilets, which typically consisted of a simple opening that carried waste outside—either into a cesspit or directly into the moat, depending on the building’s design. These facilities were usually located in a small, separate chamber protruding from the body of the building. Such toilet was depicted by Pieter Breugel the Elder in a painting called Netherlandish Proverbs which you can see in the attached image. I also incorporated iconic butt trumpeter from Kingdom Come universe.
The model was sculpted and texured in Blender wringing tears of struggle and victory.
Parts of the model are designed to fit Prusa MK3S+ bed. The cabinet you can see in the photo is meant to be put together by sliding the roof slopes on the top and the stone bracket at the bottom. It has a hole on the back and can be mounted onto the wall with a small screw. There are two types of door to choose; one with the butt trumpeter (I recommend glueing the trumpet in) and with KCD2 logo. Both are designed to be printed with multiple colors adding color change between layers. I printed the butt door with marble grey PLA and wood filament, painted the butt with some wash and sanded it a little bit to enhance the details. I wanted the paintjob to be as minimal as possible to show the raw shape of the model. It was printed with 0,6 mm nozzle.
The shape of the hole was modeled after this:
