Description
This gasket maximizes your FOV and gives you a more comfortable experience laying down on your side than the default pimax gasket. I designed by manually reverse engineering the dream air as they still have not released any 3d files for reference; this was quite time consuming, please enjoy. The gasket is intended to be used with the studioform x1b style bigscreen gaskets, but you could use PU leather strips if you want to save $.
This design includes zip tie loops to attach accessories to the frame.
It also opens up the top usb-c that is blocked by the default (release day) gasket.
All items are optional but the following is suggested:
Hot glue
X1B style studioform bigscreen face pad
Velcro
Small Screwdriver
Printing:
i suggest printing at a 45 degree angle for the best fit/accuracy
Instructions:
Choose which version to print, i suggest starting with the "nominal" version as this should be close enough for most users.
Remove the 8x screws holding the metal frame to the default pimax gasket.
Transfer the frame to your ancillary gasket and screw it in
Hot glue velcro to the ancillary gasket.
Attach facial interface of your choice to the gasket using velcro and enjoy.
To install, install bottom first, then tilt upwards.
You may need to pull up on the top to get the center nub above the magnet to snap in
You may also need to push hard on the sides to get it to snap in past the release levers on the arms.
Update:
Added holes to allow mounting to the 2x M2 threaded inserts on top.
You'll need an m2x8-m2x10 screw
Reduced clearance on top
