Description
This is a high-strength 3D-printable adapter designed to bridge a 17mm socket wrench with a specific internal metal component. After several iterations, this model has been optimized for high torque resistance and a perfect fit.
Dual-End Connectivity: Features a precise 17.1mm hexagonal head (ideal for a 17.3mm internal socket) and a specialized top channel for the metal insert.
Reinforced Joint: Uses a custom support ring (Torus) at the connection point to distribute stress and prevent shearing.
Optimized Internal Geometry: Designed to be printed with specific reinforcement zones to handle mechanical loads.
To ensure this part doesn't snap under pressure, please follow these settings (especially for PETG):
Material: PETG (Recommended for its interlayer adhesion and slight flexibility).
Wall Loops: 6 (Essential for structural integrity).
Infill: 60% Gyroid for the main body.
Critical Zone Reinforcement (Modifier): * I highly recommend adding a Height Range Modifier between the heights of 23mm and 28mm.
Set Infill to 100% and Wall Loops to 8 within this range to solidify the hexagonal head connection.
Top/Bottom Shells: 5 Layers.
Simply slide your 17mm socket over the hexagonal top and insert your metal tool into the bottom slot. This adapter is perfect for DIY repairs or custom tool setups where a standard adapter isn't available.
