Description
Display your Savi's Workshop Lightsaber in style!
This display is broken down into parts sized to fit on a standard 20x20cm bed. All of the weight is carried by the “Body Top” and “Saber Hook” components, which I'd print pretty strong. The rest is just decorative and only needs to be strong enough to survive things bumping into them.
Test glue together some parts to ensure you can reliably get very strong bonds, particularly on those saber blade parts. You can optionally also use M3 threaded rod sections cut to length with glue running up through the blade segments to assist with strength. This is purely an aid for the glue joint. That way even if the glue bonds start to fail, it will keep the break to a minor crack. I've had those develop a couple of times due to imperfect bonds, but they held together just fine and I refilled with CA glue without messing up the paint.
The saber hook is attached both mechanically and with glue, though likely only one of the two is necessary. The heated inserts in the hook are for M3 screws.
I used Grecian Gold Rub n Buff for all the gold accents on the one pictured.
Expect the entire project to take a fair bit of time.
