The Goblin King, also known as the Great Goblin, is the formidable chieftain of the goblins (orcs) inhabiting Goblin-town in the dark tunnels beneath the Misty Mountains in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit. Described as a tremendous goblin with a huge head, he rules over a cruel, wicked horde that delights in torture, machinery, and ambush. When Thorin and Company, along with Bilbo, are captured and brought before him, the Great Goblin erupts in rage upon recognizing the ancient elven swords Orcrist and Glamdring—legendary "Goblin-cleavers" from Gondolin's wars—ordering his minions to torment the prisoners. His brief but explosive presence ends swiftly when Gandalf, having escaped, slashes him across the belly with Glamdring, killing him instantly and sparking the chaotic escape that leads Bilbo to find the One Ring. Though minor in screen time, his death incites goblin vengeance that echoes into later events.

Best printed in resin and glued to appropriate sized base.
