Description
Darren Moser's side pot "pinky rings" are a brilliant way to easily access the side pots on your FrSky transmitter, particularly while you're also using the 3rd axis gimbals (aka "twisty sticks").
Unfortunately, once I installed my transmitter into the FrSky CNC aluminum tray that is made for the X20/S and X18/S series of transmitters, the stock wrist pads extended too close to the transmitter and prevented full sweep of the pots unless they were torqued oddly and forced into position.
Note that there is a different CNC tray for the R-, RS-, Pro- and AW-series transmitters from FrSky that does NOT have the same wrist pad geometry and does not exhibit this problem.
Rather than spend 5 minutes destroying with my Dremel, I decided instead to spend a few hours creating and the results are these drop-in replacement wrist pads that are notched to allow full pot rotation with the pinky rings installed.
I printed the wrist pads in ASA at 0.2mm layer height with a 0.4mm nozzle. The debossed pattern in the model is .4mm deep, so 0.2mm layer height ensures two full layers of depth. The mounting holes are sized to reuse the stock self-tapping screws, but could easily be hogged out for M2 heat set inserts if you so desire.
I've included a few variations of debossing patterns, including a "clean" option where you should be able to add any pattern you want (please share any customizations you make!)
I've also included here the .stl for Darren's side pot rings (with permission of course - thank you Darren!)
