The Grid-Lock Storage Collection

This collection focuses on the intersection of Geometric structure and Soft tactile surfaces. Originally an exploration of secure mechanical fits, this set features a unique, repeating grid texture that is as satisfying to hold as it is functional.

The standout of this series is Tray 3 (included as Tray3.1 and Tray3.2), which utilizes a precisely defined grid-block pattern across a rounded, soft-form body.

Design Features

• Geometric Grid Texture: A clean, repeating block pattern that provides a secure tactile grip and a modern aesthetic.

• Soft-Form Body: The overall silhouette balances the sharpness of the grid with smooth, rounded transitions for a comfortable feel.

• Secure Twist-Lock: A reliable mechanical mechanism ensures the lid remains fixed, making these perfect for hardware, desk organization, or EDC storage.

• Dimensions: Approximately 80mm x 65mm x 64mm.
  
  3D printing settings

Supports: Yes (Required for the lid locking mechanism and internal overhangs).

Layer Height: 0.16mm - 0.2mm (Lower layer height improves the detail).

Infill: min. 10% (I used lightning).

Wall Lines: 3 walls for extra durability. (but also tested 2 wall lines only and still was holding fine).

Material: Up to you (I used PLA)
