I CAST WALL OF TEXT

I am an airsofter who has just moved to a place with no airsoft fields nearby. There is, however, a local nerf club. I decided to put a blaster together and give that a shot. This project is that. It's my first time, so be gentle.

My vision is for a CO2 powered, select fire semi/fully automatic, gas blowback nerf blaster. It uses the valve/reservoir out of a donor Rekt Jury (nerf) or H8R (airsoft) CO2 revolver. Mechanically, it functions very similarly to an airsoft GBBR, except it draws from a CO2 cartridge in the grip instead of a reservoir in the magazine. It uses talon magazines and half length darts.

While working on that, I decided to make a version of the upper receiver without a gas system, that way I could test raw gas output without a gas action drawing CO2 away. What better way to do that than to make a bolt action version of the upper?

I am still working on the automatic upper receiver, but the bolt action upper just slaps onto the lower receiver that I already have drawn up. At this point in time, the bolt action version is a finished blaster. It feeds, cycles, fires, and does everything else you would expect out of a blaster, hence why I am posting it here. I will probably just continue developing the automatic version and release it as a remix of this one.

Thank you to everyone in the Nerfcord, Bear and Friends, and Roboman discord servers for all the help getting this together. You guys are awesome!

Update Log

3/8/2026 - Initial beta release (V0.8.2)

3/13/2026 - Adjusted magazine release tolerances, made the nozzle slightly narrower to make it able to pass through nightingale magazine feed lips, and added a new lower receiver set to the files for nightingale mags. I also reorganized the components in the component tree to be easier to read. Added selection groups for parts of the same type. I also made misc clearance and tolerance changes throughout the model (V0.9.5)

3/25/2026 - 1.0 Release (V1.0.2). RAHHHH 1.0 RELEASE. Huge shoutout to everyone who printed the beta versions and helped me iron out the kinks. Yall are absolutely stellar. Preceding the 1.0 release, I changed the following:

  • replaced the previous glue on top rail mount with screw mounts

  • extended mag catch tooth to better retain magazines

  • changed ID of abstract handguard to allow a quickstring scar to fit inside

  • swapped out two pins in the fire control group for printed fittings, reducing total hardware requirements

  • swapped out the charging handle mount for a printed fitting, reducing total hardware requirements

  • swapped the upper receiver bolt track pin for an M3 screw and nut

  • corrected some small clearance issues and other miscellaneous geometry mistakes

2/25/2026 - Added a pin to the BOM that was missing for some reason. Thank you to Senrath in the nerfcord for bringing it to my attention.
