Hadley Neumo elevation gear

I wanted a better way to control the elevation of the telescope, but I did not want to reprint any of the larger pieces, so I created this gear set.

Maybe I printed something wrong, but to fit the sturdy mount with the original neumo rockers I had to slim down the rocker mounting pieces. If your neumo is also too wide to properly fit the sturdy mount, print two of the "Thinner Insert Block" pieces.

The large gear fits both the three-spoke and two-spoke rockers. It is a tight fit, so you may need to sand the spokes slightly. The small gear features a handle for turning by hand and requires an M6 screw to serve as an axle, I am using a countersunk M6x40 screw.

I do recommend also printing the small clamp, it needs an m5 screw and heated insert, it clamps on the inner side of the rocker, making the telescope less likely to move on its own.

I might remake this using a worm gear instead of the double helix setup. Since worm gears are difficult to backdrive, the telescope will stay where you place it. Eliminating the need for clamps or counterweights while still providing geared elevation control.
