Description
All new design here ....
Presses into the center of a spool and is held in with spring like features that are built in.
The cap snaps on.
Designed to fit 1 on each end of a standard 1kg spool.
The through diameter is made to clarence up to a 1/2" shaft (12.7mm).
Fits well in 50mm to 52mm inside diameters.
The funnel is designed to plug the center through hole and allow control over where you are adding desiccant.
Fitment confirmed with Prusa spools and the Polymaker spool adapters such as my remix.
Print with PETG or PCTG for strength and flexibility of the springs. In my tests the "fingers" broke due to the lack of flexibility in PLA with this design.
No supports needed
Examples printed with standard Prusa slicer settings for 3D-Fuel PCTG
Example printed in file direction with brim and support. Brim is a must in this direction
Brim was 1 layer x 5mm wide.
I have tried printing with the bowl side down and no supports but it does not come out very smooth on the funnel/bowl side. This is why I printed bowl side up with supports.
Slicer pics shown for brim and support example.
Add lip to the funnel to help mitigate spillage
Modify the "fingers" to allow a larger range of fitment
