PROJECT BACKGROUND

🧰 Anyone who spends time around a maker bench knows how this goes.

You finish trimming a print, cleaning supports, cutting tape, or opening a package… and the hobby knife ends up sitting on the table with the blade exposed.

Not exactly ideal.

This cover was designed as a simple solution to protect both the blade and your fingers when the knife isn’t actively being used. It slips on quickly, stays put, and adds a little extra peace of mind to the workspace.

Sometimes the smallest prints end up being the handiest ones.

DESIGN DETAILS

PRINTING NOTES

🖨 Printed examples shown were done in PLA using:

🔹 Standard 0.4 mm nozzle
🔹 Default slicer settings

Print orientation:
⬇ Flat side down on the build plate

Supports:
❌ NOT required

🟦 Brim:
Recommended due to the small footprint and height of the model. A brim helps ensure the part stays firmly attached to the build plate during printing.

💡 Because the model is small, slightly slower outer wall speeds may help produce cleaner edges.

⏱ Typical print time is only a few minutes on most printers.
