Description
This tiny twist-lock box is a neat little hiding place for the small stuff that matters.
Jewellery, notes, tiny treasures, weird little parts you refuse to lose, it all fits inside a compact shell that opens with a simple twist. No magnets, no hinges, no extra hardware, just two printed parts and a satisfying mechanism!
The lid drops in, twists, and stays put until you line it up to open again. The arrow design on top makes the motion obvious, and the textured sides give it a nice grippy feel. It is small, clean, a bit secretive, and just fun to use. The texture has been generated in Prusa Slicer, so if you want to re-slice it - remember to add it if you do like it!
It prints as two simple parts and goes together straight off the bed. A practical little box, a fun mechanism, and a nice excuse to learn some CAD along the way.
I also made this as a design project, not just a container. The plan is to follow it up with a video showing how to build the whole thing in FreeCAD, from the basic shape to the locking mechanism, so anyone who wants can learn how to make their own twist-to-open designs instead of only printing this one.
