Description
Description:
As part of our high school engineering science course, we were asked to design a beam bridge in SolidWorks.
So I’m sharing my work here in case it might be of interest to you in any way.
We had no information at our disposal. We therefore had to do our own research. No calculations were required; we were only asked to justify our choices and ensure the overall design was coherent. My bridge therefore likely contains numerous construction flaws or defects. I also simplified many parts to make modeling easier.
Here are the constraints:
-1*2 lanes
-Minimum width of 6 m
-Beam structure
-Steady 8% grade in a straight line
-Span length of 300 m, located 10 m below the existing road
-Maximum load-bearing capacity of a pile = 60 m
-Pile model specified in the problem statement and to be reproduced (in SolidWorks using as few features as possible)
To open my work:
Open the assembly and specify the location of the folder where you saved the parts. Normally, a message will appear explaining that the file “tablier-caisson.SLDRPT” is missing; this is completely normal—I am unable to properly delete the file from the assembly—so simply click “Delete.” Please feel free to contact me if you encounter any issues opening the file.
