QIDI Q2 Minimalist Riser – Lightweight & Support-Free
I designed this riser for my QIDI Q2 because I wanted something lighter and more cost-effective than the "tank-like" models available. If you want to save filament and skip the hassle of supports, this is for you.
No supports needed: I only used "mouse ears" brims for the joints.
Lightweight & Fast: Save filament and time without sacrificing functionality.
Full Ventilation: Features vents on all sides (yes, including the back!).
Perfect Clearance: At 45mm height, it provides enough room for the PTFE tube to move freely - no more rubbing against the glass lid.
If you plan to put heavy stuff on top, like the QIDI Box. This model is NOT designed for that.
If you simply don’t like the minimalist aesthetic.
Is it less massive than other models? Yes. Does it have a bit more flex? Sure. But it gets the job done without wasting half a spool of filament. Once it’s on the printer with the glass in place, it’s steady and does exactly what a riser should do - lets the heat out without the bulk.
⚠ A Note on Weight & Strength: Orca Slicer calculates the total weight at around 370g. Please remember this is a minimalist design. It’s perfect for the glass lid, but it wasn't built to hold heavy accessories. Let’s keep it light!
