Description
This opening pick is a simple, reliable tool designed for safely separating plastic parts without damaging surfaces.
Its shape is inspired by classic guitar picks, making it comfortable to hold while providing precise control when working with clips, seams, and tight gaps.
When opening plastic enclosures, the biggest challenge is applying enough force to release clips without scratching or breaking the part.
This tool focuses on control and surface safety:
Thin enough to slide into small gaps
Flexible enough to avoid snapping clips
Rigid enough to apply controlled leverage
The textured hole pattern improves grip, especially during longer use or when applying pressure.
• Slim, tapered edge for easy insertion
• Rounded geometry to prevent scratches
• Honeycomb grip pattern for better handling
• Compact and lightweight
• No sharp edges – safe for delicate parts
Prints easily on most FDM printers.
Recommended settings:
Layer height: 0.15–0.2 mm
Walls: 2–3
Infill: 100% (for strength)
Material: PLA (easy) / PETG (more flexible & durable)
For extra flexibility, print slightly thinner or use PETG.
Works perfectly as a functional guitar pick thanks to its ergonomic shape.
Ideal for opening smartphones and small electronics without damaging the casing.
Helps to separate clips and housings in delicate devices.
Useful for everyday DIY tasks where a non-metal tool is needed.
Great for unclipping plastic enclosures and snap-fit parts.
