Empty reel winder

06/04/2026 EDIT : New compact version added: fewer parts to print, less filament, no more screws needed, takes up less storage space, and includes a finger clip—plus, the handle is still usable!

I created this winder at the request of a friend to wind fiber optics, but you can wind anything you like: electric cables, garlands, etc.

This design is based on a new prusament spool.

No need for supports except for the nut cover which prevents cables from hanging up the nut and handle clips for the triangular part.
for the axle print it hex side up, no need for supports

For assembly, you'll need to align the notches in the center holes of the coil flanks.

BIM:  Print each part once except the bearing, which will be printed twice
- 1x CHC screw M6x40
- 2x HM6 nut

All printable on the mini's bed (180x180mm)
